Music of the Baroque: Bach and the Italians

About the Show

Eighteenth-century Italy was a vibrant source of musical inspiration. Nicholas Kraemer leads the orchestra in a colorful program showcasing the genius of the Italian Baroque — and our own principal players — including Marcello’s gorgeous Concerto for Oboe and Vivaldi’s triumphant Concerto for 2 Trumpets. Concertos for 2 and 3 violins by J. S. Bach show just how far — and how loudly — Italian influence resonated.
