Questa focuses on Paul, a victim of an attempted gay bashing who — perhaps accidentally — kills his attacker. Driven to relieve his guilt, he begins a complex, cathartic effort to anonymously befriend his victim’s mother. The only witness to the crime was Daniel, a homeless gay man who silently falls in love with Paul and chooses to protect him. Daniel is the play’s narrator and conscience, probing spirituality, sexuality, suffering and loss — and ultimately, the will to move forward.
