Sandy Takes a Break

Sandy Takes a Break is a slice-of-life sketch-comedy show that portrays awkward encounters among friends and strangers: two emasculated suburban dads are stymied in their struggle to find a meaningful outlet as video artists; an effete father takes his daughter’s boyfriend on an impromptu birthday drive; a sensitive army colonel tries to pick up his unit’s spirits after a botched mission in Iraq; and TV news anchor Sandy Vencour is fired after peppering his coverage with inaccuracies and barnyard metaphors. Things get weird as these self-delusional characters collide with reality and learn that Chris Isaak wasn’t lying when he sang, “This world is only gonna break your heart.”
