During The Great Depression, a soul-searching young ex-preacher finds himself in the small farming community of Zion, Indiana, hoping to find solace. He is offered shelter and work with the Layman family where he forges a bond with the Layman’s youngest child, Buddy. Due to an accident in his youth, Buddy possesses an extraordinary, near-miraculous gift no one can explain. Follow these two lost souls’ and their impact on the townspeople, forever searching for that something that allows us to go on. This sensitive, evocative, laugh-out-loud funny play from Jim Leonard Jr. gets a heartfelt and revitalizing treatment from Organic Theater Company, directed by Josh Anderson.
