The Secret Garden, a classic tale by Frances Hodgson Burnett, tells the story of Mary Lennox, an orphaned 11 year old girl, who returns from India to Yorkshire to live with an embittered, reclusive uncle and his invalid son. Flashbacks, dream sequences, a strolling chorus of ghosts, and some of the most beautiful music ever written by Marsha Norman and Lucy Simon help to dramatize this compelling tale of new life and discovery.
There is a reception before the show on opening night, June 20, and a discount ticket of $10.00 for that performance to anyone who has ever worked in or on a Summer Place show over any of its forty plus years of productions.
The Summer Place dedicates this Summer’s season to Roger Place, former manager and board member, who passed away in May.
