Armitage Gone! Ligeti Essays, the dance company’s most recent work, is suite of concise, jewel-like movements choreographed to music by the great Hungarian composer György Ligeti. Gyorgy Ligeti was one of the 20th century’s most brilliantly inventive and uncategorizable composers. With his trademark wit and capacity to surprise he offers a glimpse of new sonic landscapes – savage, sinister and beautiful. David Salle’s set is described in the New York Times as "breathtaking…it takes on the look of a remote icy pond in the middle of a dream." Senior dance critic Clive Barnes says of Armitage, "her new program is far out and altogether terrific."
