Based in part on Norwegian folk traditions, Ibsen’s Peer Gynt is comic, tragic, lyrical, and fantastic. The irresponsible, lovable Peer swaggers and seduces his way from the fjords of Norway to the desserts of Africa in search of complete fulfilmetn. By choosing to live a life of waste, he ultimately finds himself in a world of lost opportunities.
