Holly Near celebrates Women’s Week 2007 with a performance to benefit Outermost Community Radio WOMR – 92.1 FM. For this very special performance Holly is joined onstage by the duo Emma’s Revolution, featuring Pat Humphries, composer of the 2002 national grassroots sensation song “Swimming to the Other Side.” Acoustic diva Christie Hardwick opens the show.

Over the years, her powerful anthems have captured the mood of many movements, and on her latest work her voice and messages have found the perfect musical setting. From her poignant treatment of Jackson Browne’s scathing indictment of the big business war machine in Lives in the Balance to an ironic rewrite of Laura “Love’s I Want You Gone”, no topic is sacred to Holly Near. War, peace, love, family, corporation, government, addiction–they all come under her scrutiny.
