11:11 Theatre Company has been in Boston for nearly 2 years now, and in that time, it has performed shows designed to make hearts pump a little faster, feel a little more than the average show. Through exclusively original productions, all of them area and/or world premieres, it wants to bring you into the atmosphere of its shows. As soon as the lights come up on stage, you’re silent observers in its world. In that spirit, it brings you its version of Romeo and Juliet. It’s modernized, but — with all due respect — not Baz Luhrmanized or ARTized. It’s set in the Boston Common. Modern dress, probably with cool hats. A live band will back the production throughout, with a score written exclusively for the show. For those of you who love Shakespeare, for those of you who haven’t seen this place since you stumbled through it in your high school English class, and for those of you who just love theatre that takes a chance and allows itself to be vulnerable — come out and see the show.
Appropriate for all ages.
