Yellow Taxi Productions is bringing the New England Premier of The Last Five Years to southern New Hampshire! Written by Tony Award-winner Jason Robert Brown, the musical chronicles Jamie and Cathy’s romance in a new and exciting way: her story starts at the end of their relationship; his begins on the day they meet. As they trip through two separate time perspectives (joining only on their wedding day), they discover that there are no easy answers when juggling love and career.
Jason Robert Brown is both the composer and lyricist of The Last Five Years which won Drama Desk Awards for Best Music and Best Lyrics. Jason won a 1999 Tony Award for his score to Parade which went on to win both the Drama Desk and Drama Critics’ Circle Awards for Best New Musical. Jason’s first musical, Songs for a New World, played Off-Broadway in 1995 and has since been seen in more than one hundred productions around the globe. Currently, Jason is the conductor of the new Broadway musical, Urban Cowboy.
Yellow Taxi’s production stars Matt Gregg, the founder of the New Hampshire Theatre Awards as Jamie. Yolanda LeRoy will portray Cathy. The Last Five Years will be musical directed by Jed Holland and directed by Suzanne Delle, winner of a 2003 NH Theatre Award for Best Director.
