Devanaughn Theatre presents Brian Friel’s Irish classic Translations.
Friel’s masterpiece is a gripping and challenging drama that explores the richness of language and what happens to a people when their language is taken from them. Set in Donegal in 1833, the play tells the story of a small community on the brink of irrevocable change as British troops and engineers begin to standardize the Gaelic placenames into the King’s English.
