Hapless parents Helen and John attempt to raise their child, only to expose him to lethal toys, harmful substances, and a particularly rancorous nanny. On top of all this, Helen “misdiagnoses” their son as a girl, naming him Daisy and making him wear dresses. To escape his parents’ dysfunctional behavior, Daisy develops a penchant for hurling himself in front of buses and for faking a catatonic state. Years later, however, an adult Daisy enters into therapy so as to properly deal with his bizarre upbringing, or at the least, help him remember to wear pants.
