About the Show

Step through the doors of the White House dressing room and eavesdrop on two strong-willed and complex women: First Lady Mary Todd Lincoln and her talented seamstress, Lizzy Keckly, a freed slave and successful businesswoman. They banter, settle scores, and share intimacies as Mary dresses for the theater. Little do they know this night will change their lives and the world. “Artful passion to move you from your seat into the storyline.” (The Washington Post)

The regional premiere by Tazewell Thompson and directed by Richard Cook.
