About the Show

Perhaps Tennessee Williams’ most lyrical and autobiographical play, The Glass Menagerie is rich in bittersweet nostalgia for a past and for relationships that may have been sources of pain but also provided great emotional involvement and a sense of belonging. The Glass Menagerie was Williams’ first successful play and is a masterpiece of compassionate insight and distinctive theaterical vitality. It dramatizes the memories of Tom Wingfield, using episodic movement, music and special lighting effects to suggest the quality of memory.

The production is directed by Joe Dowling, featuring Tony Award-winning actress Harriet Harris and Queer as Folk star Randy Harrison. Rounding out the cast are local and Guthrie favorites Jonas Goslow, Tracey Maloney, and Bill McCallum.
