Based on the celebrated novel, The House on Mango Street is a series of vignettes – sometimes heartbreaking, sometimes deeply joyous – about a young Latina growing up in Chicago. Determined to leave her impoverished neighborhood, she discovers writing is both her way out and her path back to the place where she invented herself. Written by Sandra Cisneros, this is a newly adapted production, freshly imagined for the Proscenium Stage by Amy Ludwig, and directed by Signe V. Harriday.
