Bayanihan Philippine National Dance Company

About the Show

Like Russia’s Moiseyev and Mexico’s Ballet Folclorico, this troupe of dancers and musicians draws on the folk dance, celebratory rituals and ancient song cycles of the Philippines’ indigenous, Chinese, Spanish and Islamic cultures — then stirs those elements into a dazzling spectacle of sound, color and movement. Conceived in the ancient spirit of bayanihan (which roughly translates as “collaboration”), they’ve been heralded worldwide for the precision, unity and unfettered joy of their performances.
