About the Show

Anti-Gone 俺抬杠?! reimagines Sophocles’ Antigone in a rural Chinese village during the 1980s. It is the last day of a three-day burial ceremony of Polynikes, the eldest son of the Oedipus family. The spirit of his late brother Eteocles awaits to escort Polynikes into the afterlife, while their living sisters, Antigone and Ismene, struggle to navigate this funeral rite because of their loathing for Polynikes. Meanwhile Polynikes' bereaving young children refuse to accept their father's death and decide to take matters into their childishly omnipotent hands.
