About the Show

Winner of the Tony Award for Best Costume Design of a Musical!

This marks the Broadway debut of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s beloved musical, Cinderella. Originally written for television as a star vehicle for Julie Andrews in 1957, Cinderella was been revived for television twice: in 1965 Lesley Ann Warren starred in the title role and in 1997 R&B star Brandy played Cinderella opposite Whitney Houston (who was also the executive producer) as the Fairy Godmother.

With an updated book by Douglas Carter Beane, Cinderella is based on the timeless fairy tale of the same name. It tells the story of a shy young girl who wants to go to the ball to meet her prince, but is prevented from going by her wicked stepmother and ugly stepsisters. But, with a little magic from her fairy Godmother, the impossible happens and Cinderella transforms into the belle of the ball. The score features hummable classics like “In My Own Little Corner”, “A Lovely Night”, “Ten Minute Ago” and “Impossible.”
