Calamus: A Celebration of Gay Male Poetry

About the Show

The show features dramatic performances of poetry by, about, and for gay men. Authors represented include W.H. Auden, Walt Whitman, Edward Field, Langston Hughes, Christopher Marlowe, and William Shakespeare. Other notable poets from the last 30 years will be represented. The poems cover a wide range of styles, from haiku to traditional verse to prose-poetry. Topics range from falling in love, making love, having sex, and living life as a gay man. Michael Boothroyd directs.
