The Drama Book Shop hosts a free lecture and book signing by one of the most controversial acting coaches in American performance, Eric Morris.
What is the controversy? It lies in what Mr. Morris calls “Instrumental Work,” which is half of the Method-based System that he created over the past 43 years to help actors identify and eliminate obstacles to expression, thus allowing them to function from a “Being” state. Mr. Morris will explain his System, including some of the most impacting acting tools that he has perfected–Sub-Personality, Sense Memory, Affective Memory, Externals, Imaging, and Instrumental Preparation.
Following the lecture will be a Q & A ending with a book signing.
“When I read a book by … Eric Morris called No Acting Please, it put it all in perspective for me.”
– Johnny Depp on Inside the Actors Studio
Eric Morris is the author of No Acting Please (with a foreword by Jack Nicholson); Being & Doing; Irreverent Acting; Acting from the Ultimate Consciousness; and Imaging, Acting and the Unconsciousness.
