Rebecca Gilman’s Boy Gets Girl makes its New York premiere at Manhattan Theatre Club, produced in association with the Goodman Theatre. The play begins with a blind date. Theresa, an accomplished reporter, is set up with Tony by a mutual acquaintance. They meet for a beer, and things seem to be going okay, or so she thinks. Then the phone calls start. And the flowers. And the unannounced visits. And the creeping realization that Tony just won’t take “no” for an answer. This production is the study of one terrifying incident that takes an unflinching look at the forces that craft our perception of women today. Lynne Meadow is the production supervisor for the original direction of the late Michael Maggio.
Special $20 student tickets are available for all performances, based on availability, one hour before showtime.
