Cartas: A Nun in Love

Cartas: A Nun in Love is the true story of a young nun in 17th century Portugal who was seduced and then abandoned by a young French cavalry officer. The ensuing correspondence, which was first published in Paris in 1669, plots a journey of love from radiant innocence, through anger and despair, and finally emerges, without regret, into serentity and wisdom.
