Comic Potential

Alan Ayckbourn’s 53rd play is a hilarious satire of television’s formulaic programming. Set in the “forseeable” future, stars of television sit-coms have been replaced by “actoids.” A brilliant look at comedy and humanity follows a pair of unlikely lovers and their uncertain future. John Tillinger directs Comic Potential, which stars Janie Dee, who won the Olivier, Evening Standard, and Critics Circle Awards for her performance in this futuristic black comedy.
