Jerusalem Syndrome chronicles Marc Maron’s personal search for religious meaning in such disparate locals as Jack Kerouac’s grave, Hollywood, the Phillip Morris plant and, ultimately, Israel. Is spiritual satisfaction found through a dialogue with God? Good drugs? Bathing in the Jordan River with a busload of Hasidic Jews? Or sipping an ice-cold Coke? Through the lens of a malfunctioning video camera, this delusional pilgrim finds himself wedged between the powerful corporate entities that run the world and his lack of connection to the God of his people.
