Inspired by Susan Sontag’s influential essays on film, Mikel Rouse’s amusing pop-opera asks, “what is the cinema of the new century?” A stunning orchestration of film, live cameras, and onstage actors, with an original hip-hop-rock-electronica score (performed live and in pre-recorded surround sound), The End Of Cinematics takes a jab at corporate movie-making with Warholian wit.
