About the Show

At its core, The Wild Duck is a family drama. The play recounts the return of Gregers Werle to his hometown after a fifteen-year absence, where he reunites with his wealthy father and a boyhood friend who has married the Werles’ former housemaid, Gina. In the course of the play, a web of secrets and deceit is revealed, tearing the families apart and exposing the failings and self-deception that mar its characters. In this powerful and timeless drama, Ibsen explores pervasive illusions and the destructive nature of truth.
