About the Show

Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil, one of the most prolific and successful songwriting duos in the history of pop music, will bring their legendary songbook to New York this winter in They Wrote That?, book by Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann, directed by Richard Maltby Jr. and produced by James B. Freydberg and CTM Productions. Mann and Weil will reveal the hilarious, sometimes dishy and always surprising back stories of what inspired the songs, how they connected with various artists, and the journey two New York songwriters took to compose record-breaking, top-selling, timeless pop tunes that became the soundtrack of the lives of several eras.

Their amazing catalog includes 53 smash hits, such as “On Broadway,” “You’ve Lost that Lovin’ Feeling,” “Somewhere Out There,” “Just Once,” “Sometimes When We Touch,” “We Gotta Get Out of This Place,” “Don’t Know Much,” “Make Your Own Kind of Music,” “Through the Fire,” “Never Gonna Let You Go,” and “If Ever You’re In My Arms Again.”
