Critically-acclaimed actor/playwright/director Austin Pendleton (Orson’s
Shadow) stages a charming and compelling record of an American family torn by the clash of ideals in the era between Woodstock and Watergate. The play takes place in Paramus, New Jersey, 1970. In the heart of this swelling suburbia, 15-year-old Thelma Gardner struggles to save her identity against an army of inadequate role models. As her family focuses on her sister’s wedding, Thelma finds her own way to combat this culture of “compromised” values.
The cast features Matthew Arkin, Jeremy Beiler, Kate Bushmann, Gene Gallerano, David Holmes, Anne Letscher, and Lisa McCormick.
