About the Show

Theatre Couture, New York’s reigning high-camp theater company, makes its highly anticipated return to the stage with the world premiere of Doll. The crew drags (literally) its unique brand of hilarity into bold new territory with this revisionist spin on Henrik Ibsen’s classic, A Doll’s House. Written by Erik Jackson and directed by Joshua Rosenzweig, the show stars downtown divas Sherry Vine and Candis Cayne. Basil Twist provides the visuals, including a pair of puppets named “Butch” and “Nellie.” With a heavy dose of glamour and a heaping helping of humor, the production marries two icons of womanhood: Ibsen’s indelible character Nora Helmer and the plastic perfection of the Barbie doll.
