In Bretton B. Holmes’ new play Fortune, Winston Charlesworth’s wealthy mother has recently died. In her last will and testament, she entered a strange requirement: that Winston’s estranged father and he must spend seven days in her house in order to inherit the fortune she gained subsequent to her divorce from Winston’s father… but there’s a catch, of course. If either of the two men step one foot outside the house before the attorney shows up on the seventh day, the other gets the whole she-bang. The two men are none too happy about the requirement in light of the fact they can’t stand each other, but the rules are simple: make it to the seventh day and get the fortune; don’t, and the other guy walks away with it.
