George M! is a musical celebration of the life and times of the man who owned Broadway. George M. Cohan was the greatest composer/lyricist/producer AND star on Broadway in the early 20th Century. He wrote such patriotic songs as “You’re a Grand Old Flag,” “Over There,” “Harrrigan,” and “Give My Regards to Broadway.” Josh Prince stars.
The musical, presented as part of Tea For Two Productions’ 2002 Gay Pride Series, features music and lyrics by George M. Cohan, book by Michael Stewart and John and Mary Pascal, and lyric and musical revisions by Mary Cohan. The production is directed and staged by Douglas Leland, and features choreography by Mercedes Ellington. Jason Sirois serves as musical director.
