About the Show

Jackie Undressed is the story of Jackie Kennedy’s chaotic first night as First lady. As the play opens, we find her upstairs in a tizzy trying to dress for the Inaugural Ball. To Jackie’s dismay, her “crazy” cousin Edie has had a bit too much to drink, and is downstairs trying to serenade Teddy Kennedy with her rendition of the Star Spangled Banner. Her “borrowed” diamond earrings from Tiffany’s seem to be missing, and she has gotten wind that her husband’s new mistress may be at the evenings festivities. Jackie contemplates bowing out as First Lady unless she can get an assurance from the President that his mistress will not be at the ball. But the thought of confrontation sends her into a tailspin. Will she or won’t she confront her husband? She struggles between her love for him and her duty as a wife and First Lady. Left alone with her inner most thoughts and desires, she looks to the mirror for some answers. She sees herself in the mirror in a new light this evening. But can she handle what the mirror reveals?

A new play written and performed by Andree Stolte, and directed by Matthew Corozine.
