About the Show

Light and Love opens with Kathryn and Van, two disparate people in separate locations who have agreed to be questioned by an unseen interviewer about a recent tragedy. Their respective stories intermingle to reveal their involvement in Illuminology, a cult-like religious movement embraced by several Hollywood personalities about the power of light and the negative effects of prescription medications. The pair’s charismatic friend Sully is a true believer and soon entangles the two into the inner circle of the church. Kathryn is ambivalent about the church’s teachings, but continues to play along out of her love for Sully …until she becomes pregnant with his child and begins to “lose her Light.” This enrages Sully and ultimately leads to a horrific and brutal act. Light and Love is presented as part of the 10th annual New york International Fringe Festival.
