Set in 1944 Eastern Europe, Lost in Space tells the story of six diverse characters hiding in an abandoned mine during World War II. Gypsy performer ‘Maria Lili Marlene Dietrich’, former Nazi turned right-winger ‘Adolph’, marijuana-addicted communist ‘Christian’, mushroom-addicted Nazi ‘Otto’ and homosexual lovers ‘Benjamin’ and ‘Vincenzo’ live out their days in hallucinations, fleeting moments of fancy and recollections of past glory. When ‘Rick’, a fast talking African-American items dealer appears and offers them a way to escape the mine, the characters must choose between their isolated comfort or an uncertain fate in a war-torn world.
