Richard Foreman’s latest work, Now That Communism Is Dead, My Life Feels Empty, focuses on two hipsters, adrift in a world of multinational conglomerates and media manipulation as they plunge into a Foremanesque landscape of music and madness while awaiting spiritual renewal. Along the way they must contend with vicious dogs and a Messiah who keeps looming in the doorway. Tony Torn and Jay Smith, last seen together in Foreman’s Paradise Hotel, portray the two very lost souls.
