Loyalty and love are threatened when lifelong friends face the harsh realities of the music business in the world premiere of Rockstar, the concert-play which is based on the lives and experiences of Joe Shane, Robert Morris, and Steven Morris, the play’s composers, musicians, writers and stars. Shane plays Kevin. To make a living, Kevin and his best friends play in a wedding band, though their dream is to secure a major label deal for their original rock band Solace. One day that dream comes true, but only for Kevin, who is offered a solo contract with Neptune Records. Lured to fame and fortune, leaving his band, best friends, and girlfriend behind, Kevin is led into a world of shattered dreams and broken promises. The show incorporates 13 original songs which all emerge from natural settings. The lyrics add power to the drama, as the music dances effortlessly from rock to swing to folk.
