The Debate Society presents The Eaten Heart, a work-shop performance of the Brooklyn based company’s newest play. The Eaten Heart draws inspiration from Boccaccio’s The Decameron, in which 100 stories are told over 10 days by 10 people — a community gathered together trying to cheat the Black Death that is ravaging the continent. These darkly comedic and bawdy tales serve as the springboard for the Debate Society’s new creation: a modern lucid dream that matches The Decameron for hilarious, erotic and occasionally gory twists.
