Pilot House presents Molière?s The Misanthrope, directed and adapted by Don Jordan. Originally produced in 1666, Molière’s comic masterpiece remains relevant to today?s soap opera socialites as it follows the trials and tribulations of cynical but noble Alceste as he wrestles between defying the corruption of his peers and his tumultuous relationship with the beautiful but licentious Célimène. Alceste breaks all the rules by challenging social mores and taking action against hypocrisy until the confrontational climax, when Célimène breaks his heart.
There is an additional 3pm matinee on Saturday, October 6.
