About the Show

The Ninja Project is a “theatrical California Roll” to tell a story about ninjas who lived in the 16th Century Japan. This new musical aims to portray ninjas as ‘real’ people who lived as shadows for the powerful during the “Sengoku era”, civil war strife. It features Team Takahashi’s director Katie Takahashi’s discoveries through field research, including the results of interview with Master Kawakami, the 21st generation Koka Banto Ninja (Last Koka Ninja alive). The fictional story is being developed and written by Katie Takahashi, with dramaturgy provided by Japan’s popular novelist, Mizuna Kuwabara (Mirage of Blaze.)
