Chicago City Limits, New York’s longest running improvisational theater company, hosts The Uncoventional Humor Festival, a new political evening featuring comedy groups, stand-up comedians and hilarious films that share a common bond: they owe much of their inspiration to the GOP visitors who will be across town. The great contribution that party politics has made to the comedy community will be joyously celebrated in “unconventional” fashion. Each night of the Republican National Convention, the Festival features a different line of comedy shows:
Monday, August 30th at 8:00pm Comedy Films
The evening features comedy films with a political bent, dealing with such diverse subjects as George Bush’s State of the Union speeches, Abraham Lincoln as a sex object, and hairstyles of our founding fathers.
Tuesday, August 31st at 8:00pm Stand Up Comedy
No topic is sacred as the best and brightest from the New York comedy scene share their truly skewed takes on the political scene.
Wednesday, September 1st at 8:00pm Comedy Groups
NY’s top sketch and improv groups join forces to create a comedy free for all with just 1 rule. Take no comedic prisoners. And if you do, don¹t undress them.
Thursday, September 2nd at 8:00pm Ambushed
Chicago City Limits presents special edition of its critically acclaimed comedy revue “Ambushed” as the CCL audience nominates its own candidate for president.
