To One I Saw Small

To One I Saw Small integrates movement, dialogue, and video, to tell the story of Ruthie, a spelling bee champ grown disenchanted with competitive spelling and choosing between happiness and ambition. In her soul-searching, she navigates a path through an absent-minded coach putting her through the motions, a failed inventor father writing manuals for a living, and a mother who has stopped speaking. When Ruthie finds first love with a shy guitar player down the street, her parents are flooded with memories of a time way back, before they settled into their routines of mundane responsibility.
