Popular West Coast cabaret artist Francesca Amari returns to The Metropolitan Room after a several-year absence on the 40th Anniversary to the day that Gilda Radner made her debut on Saturday Night Live — October 11, 1975. Amari brings her critically-acclaimed tribute show to the late, great comedian for two performances. Amari has been performing the cabaret show throughout the country to delighted audiences and raising money for local Gilda’s Clubs and cancer support organizations. A musical send-up of the life and career of the popular Radner, told from her own words in her autobiography, “It’s Always Something,” as well as the writing of Radner’s comedy writing partner on SNL, Alan Zweibel, in his account titled “Bunny, Bunny.” It’s witty, it’s fun, it’s poignant and always entertaining. A portion of the proceeds to be donated to Gilda’s Club NYC.
