Guys & Dolls soars with the spirit of Broadway. Based on a Damon Runyon short story, the story revolves around Nathan Detroit, organizer of the oldest established permanent floating crap game in New York, who bets fellow gambler Sky Masterson that he can’t make the next girl he sees fall in love with him. That girl turns out to be a pure-at-heart Salvation Army-type reformer, and the stage is set for a hilarious evening of complications. The fast-paced book by Abe Burrows and Jo Swerling combined with a bright, brassy score by Frank Loesser takes us from the heart of Times Square (and the sewers of New York!) to the cafes of Havana.
