Winner of three Tony Awards, this knock-down drag-out farce set in the 1930s tells the tale of Henry Saunders, the General Manager of the Cleveland Grand Opera, as he anxiously anticipates the arrival of the world famous tenor, Tito Morelli. Showing up late for his one-night-only appearance as Otello, the star inadvertently takes a double-dose of tranquilizers and passes out cold. Believing him dead, Saunders frantically persuades his assistant Max to take the star’s place. Max makes his opera debut just as Morelli wakes up. With two Othellos, star-struck fans, a jealous wife, and a meddling bellhop, the hilarity and hijinks never stop.
Broadway luminaries Michael McCormick (Elf, Curtains, Kiss of the Spider Woman), Janet Dacal (Wonderland, In the Heights) and the Tony nominated Emily Skinner (Side Show, Billy Elliott and the Hangar’s Dirty Blonde) headline this fun-filled romp.
