Much Ado About Nothing

The Loft Theatre at Dowling College presents Shakespeare’s classic comic romance, Much Ado About Nothing, directed by Teresa K. Pond. Set in the Roaring Twenties on Long Island’s opulent Gold Coast, Much Ado features one of the great comic couples in theatre, Beatrice and Benedick (whose witty and scathing repartee recalls classic film couples like Tracy & Hepburn), as well as the hysterical bumbling detective Dogberry (as wild and wacky as Inspector Clouseau) and high drama at a wedding ceremony. A joyous, multi-layered comedy with hi-jinks and high drama, the play is a delight for audience members of all ages. With a professional design team, actors from both Long Island and New York City, and an intimate black box theater, the Loft presents an Off-Broadway experience right here on Long Island.
