Shakescenes and Shakespeare Jukebox

Appearing at the Second Avenue Firehouse, the Knighthorse Theatre Company performs Shakescenes and the Shakespeare Jukebox.

Tyrus Lemerande and Amy McLaughlin, the charismatic founders of the Knighthorse Theatre Company, have a simple mission: make Shakespeare alive again by getting the Bard off the page and onto the stage where he belongs. A Knighthorse stage has no dimensions, no boundaries, no limits… actor and audience occupy the same space. Imagine having Macbeth wipe his bloody hand on your leg or having Juliet whisper her sorrows into your ear. Shakespeare has never seemed so real. In the words of Ty Lemerande, “Going to the theatre should be a like going to a baseball game, it should be communal experience filled with cheers, jeers, fears and tears.”

Knighthorse performs Shakescenes, selected scenes from Shakespeare’s most famous plays, and the bravura Shakespeare Jukebox, when audience members can call out requests from any of the Bard’s plays. Theater fans of all ages should not miss this performance.
