Winner of the 2000 London Evening Standard and the 2001 Olivier Awards for Best New Play. Inter/Act Theatre Company and Act II Playhouse present Blue/Orange, by Joe Penhall. Seth Rozin directs.
It is the night before Christopher’s impending release from a mental hospital, despite his seemingly bizarre claims that oranges are blue and that he is the son of exiled Ugandan dictator Idi Amin. Two psychiatrists – one a student and the other a seasoned professional – dispute whether or not Christopher should be returned to his community. What starts as a debate over a patient becomes a full-scale battle of minds in the struggle between protecting society and the rights of an individual.
