Theatre on the Verge is thrilled to present a 20-minute excerpt of new musical in development Judia with book, music, and lyrics by Drew Russell DuBoff, at its Scenes & Songs Cabaret on April 11, 2025, at the Media Theatre in PA. Featuring classical performers from South Jersey and Philadelphia, this musical reevaluates the danger of corrosive hatred stemming from religious intolerance in the French grand opera "La juive." Set in the Spanish Inquisition, Judia concerns a young Jewish woman—torn between her lover and her God—and her father, who is on a quest for vengeance. This story must be told because persecution prevails over tolerance, time and time again.
