A Catholic priest is assigned to a remote parish in early-1900s Michigan. When a young nun arrives to teach at the parish school, he suffers a crisis of faith as their feelings for each other grow. When her body is discovered after a catastrophic fire, the small town is quick to pin the crime on the conflicted priest, but who is truly to blame?
