About the Show

This production is composed of young performers who "make a rhythm out of anything they can get their hands on or that makes a sound." Stiff-bristle brooms become a sweeping orchestra, Zippo lighters flip open and closed to create a fiery fugue, while wooden poles thump and clack in a rhythmic explosion. In fact, Stomp uses everything but conventional percussion instruments – including trashcans, tea chests, plastic bags, plungers, boots, and hubcaps – to fill the stage with compelling and infectious rhythms. The New York Times called it "A sure-fire crowd pleaser. STOMP is banged, tapped, swished, clicked and clomped with an entrancing charm and a rock-and-roll heart."
